About the project
We have proposals to revitalise the main streets in Craigmillar and Niddrie.
To help you easily get to local shops, schools and other community facilities, along
- Peffermill Road
- Niddrie Mains Road
- Newcraighall Road
We’re proposing
- safer crossings at busy locations
- faster and more reliable bus times with new bus lanes
- safe cycle routes along the main roads
- nicer public spaces with trees and plants
This busy corridor is a key bus route for the local community but also people travelling through the area. New bus lanes will help to improve bus journey times.
The project builds on key Council strategies
Related Council projects in Craigmillar and Niddrie are:

- Where possible, we will also work together with the 'Pride in Place' board
